My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness
This book is fantastic. It beautifully illustrates the struggles with everyday life while dealing with mental illnesses. I think it was especially strong of Nagata Kabi to put herself on display as a lesbian, and someone with mental illnesses because it can help others who are going through similar situations. Also, because those things aren't as widely accepted in asian cultures. It was a great time to read, and after reading initially her exchange diary, I went and bought all three of her books. I am currently done with MLEWL and the first exchange diary and am on the second one.
I think for the art, one thing I really appreciated was the color. The pink really makes it stand out above all the other manga on the shelves, just because of how different it is. It also feels more inviting than the standard black and gray inks. Her characterization is also beautiful, and there was never a time where the art felt disconnected. The way it was written and the artwork/style fit perfectly together, and I can't imagine it in any other way.
