FMA

I watched all of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood when I was a sophomore in highschool I believe. I loved it so much, for many of the reasons that Macy mentioned in their presentation. The strength of all the female cast was such a pleasant thing to experience because a lot of other shounen anime I was watching at the time had a lot of not so strong women characters (like Lucy from Fairytail). Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed a lot of those other anime and manga despite their flaws, but nothing else at the time hit as hard as FMAB.

I think it is an excellent showcase in storytelling. Everything melds together in a complete and natural way, and I think it fits well with the characters growing up throughout the story. The development is very natural is what I'm basically trying to say. Another interesting thing about this work, is that I believe it is a major factor in popularizing manga and anime based on the seven deadly sins. This series was very impactful for manga and anime!

As far as the manga itself, I think it has a very traditional shounen aesthetic, with lots of uses of halftones, and panels where its just characters on a blank halftone backdrop. Not my favorite, I prefer things that are a little more complex looking, like the Nausicaa manga, but it still is good and works for the piece.
